Tracing Pensions by NI Number

Options
I have 30+ years of working experience and have held many jobs in many companies, some of which have been taken over or gone out of business altogether. I would love to trace any pensions but can't remember all the names of the companies I have worked for. Is it possible to trace them by my NI number?
TIA!

Not that I'm aware of, although others may know different.
For those for which you can remember the names, the Pension Tracing Service may be of help

  • If you were contracted out at any time you can find the company names by cloning this letter with your name and address (it worked for me)

    To:

    NISPI

National Insurance Contributions and Employers Office

    HM Revenue and Customs

    BX9 1BX

    United Kingdom

    NI Number: XXXXXXXX, DOB: XXXXXX

I wonder whether you can assist me in providing details of when and from whom I was contracted out of SERPs  and other additional State Pension Schemes.

    Many thanks
