toddler gift for mother and toddler christmas party

My son (2yrs) has been invited to a few mother and toddler Christmas parties in December. I have been asked to bring a small gift for him (under £5) to be wrapped and given to him by Santa.

Help, I need inspiration of what to buy from you helpful people!!

Is it something to be given to another child by Santa? If so, something unisex!

How about looking in the Boots or ELC catalogues for ideas? Sorry I can't help, its too long ago to remember what my kids played with when toddlers!
  • No I have to buy a gift for him and to place in santa's sack at the christmas party. My mind has drawn a complete blank, aaah!

Play doh, colouring book and crayons (with christmas pic on front and big pics to colour), no musical instruments unless you want to upset any of the adults there, small box of animals (sure elc have some), play car/truck or even two in a set so he can play with a friend, story book. HTH

They have a good selection of books .... in The Works, so you'll get something decent for under a fiver.

  • thanks r.mac, any idea where I get duplo blocks or stickle bricks for about £5? I think this is what he would like, but haven't see any for less than about £8!
  • There are quite a few small megablok sets kicking around the shops at the moment around the £5 mark, I find TKMaxx excellent for things like this. There are lots of cheap playdoh sets around too. Books do always go down well though.

I have seen a few sets of this kind of thing in TK maxx too. Some stores are better than others and it is a little hit and miss.

If you found a pack that was about £10 would it be big enough to split into two to do two parties (if you have two that is)? that way he gets something he actually wants and will play with.
