Applying for mortgage to move - which type of job best?

Hello, advice if possible please! My husband and I have recently decided we would like to move, so are smartening our house up ready to go on the market. We haven't yet seen a mortgage advisor to confirm what we can afford, but plan to shortly. My husband has a permanent job with fairly low salary enhanced by on call and overtime. I am currently working on a staff bank with no fixed contract, no sick pay, no holiday pay etc but earning £25+ an hour. The job is due to last for at least another 14 months but there is no guarantee. For various reasons I am thinking about going for a permanent job but that will only pay about £10 an hour. From our mortgage application point of view, which would be more helpful? Well paid but effectively zero hours, or new job lower wage? Many thanks for any thoughts...

Try using some of the online calculators for affordability and debt to income ratios for both salaries. If they show a good indication that you would be able to lend what you need on the lower paid permanent job, I would sat that that is the safer option.
It appears that most people here are asked for 3 months wage slips though so a good broker will be able to answer these once they have all your outgoing info0
