Rail fare / travel insurance

Hi all.
Been searching the web with little success but I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation....
I have 6 trips (day trips - out and back) from Newcastle upon tyne to Manchester booked for a Masters module.
The course dates start on April 30th and run weekly for 6 weeks.
They are advanced tickets and cannot be cancelled or refunded.
Having spent a small fortune on the travel, I've been a little spooked by COVID-19 and it's it's ability to cancel large gatherings, schools and universities.
I don't have travel insurance, but most policies also appear to cover trips of one night or more. And I don't think I'd have cover anywhere else (e.g. home insurance).
Hopefully I'll get to go still. But for peace of mind I wouldn't mind paying a premium to get some cover. The best quote I can find for a single day trip (moneysupermarket) is £8. Which will add £48 cost. E
journey is around £20 each way, so totals around £240.
Any thoughts? I cost risk it? Anyone in a similar situation for gigs? Sporting events etc?
Andy
