If I fill all the bankrupcy forms in tomorrow and submit them, can I apply for a new account that day. I was thinking of a Monzo account

I don’t think it’d make much difference. Many will say leave until your bankruptcy is approved (do tomorrow or Tuesday). Monzo are quite good at engaging with bankrupts I hear.If you have money in an account with a bank you owe money to there’s a strong argument to move it withdraw the money (enough for a few days at least) in case they use right of set off
regardless it’s a good idea to get some cash now, as your account might be frozen for a brief period1 -
Hello, my nephew has just turned 16 today and wants to get some part time work. He needs a bank account but has been to his local Barclays branch who won't open an account as it is non-essential. They have quite a few banks in their city - anyone know of any banks that will allow a 16 year old to open an account either in branch or online? (I think online is a non-starter as he is under 18)0

When I went bankrupt Barclays were only bank who would allow both myself and my husband an account - I filled everything in online and then went to branch with identity - it was a basic account but gave us what we needed and since then they have been great and deal with my business account too. good luck

Should be able to start it online, then go to a branch with proof of id and address
e.g.

Same here. What happened is the bank froze the account until they got confirmation from the official receiver it was OK to resume. I phoned the OR dealing with my case and they instantly contacted the bank. The only requirement was that my cheque book was handed back in and overdraft facilities were withdrawn.
