Hi,
Got mailed by an organisation offering to look into whether I am owed any tax by the revenue for 40% of whatever is owed. The 40% seems steep but aside from that is there any merit in looking at this?

Ask them what their qualifications are...you can probably get a cheaper better answer from either HMRC directly or by paying a professional at an hourly rate...0
