Bankruptcy help!

Options
Hi
I have approx 20k of debt and am not working due to ill health.  My partner is unemployed also so our income is limited.  I have completed forms for bankruptcy but haven't got the 680 fee.  I've applied to British gas and United utilites trust funds but no joy.  Can one of my debtors make me bankrupt or has anyone got any suggestions please

Are you confident your above £20k if your less than £20k a DRO maybe more suitable and the fee is only £90

For bankruptcy fees this might be worth a read https://debtcamel.co.uk/help-with-bankruptcy-fees/

Speak to a debt organisation such as StepChange. They need to review your statement of affairs.

If you're under £20k then definitely look into a DRO. If not then you can pay the fees bit by bit, it may take some time to get to the point you can submit, but it's one way.

Your creditors can make you bankrupt if you owe them over £5,000 (I think it's £5k), but it would generally take a while for them to get to that point, if they think they'll end up with more money from you not going bankrupt then they might not want to go that route.
I may be wrong sometimes, I learn a little every time I'm corrected.
