Hi! I don't know if anyone can help me, I'm super confused.
My partner has two children with his ex-wife, the eldest child we don't see(fighting parental alienation at the moment
) the younger child we have over 135nights a year not including holidays as they vary so much I can't work it out accurately.
I have two children from a previous relationship who live with us full time.
I am disabled and seriously poorly so he gave up his carer as a nurse to care for me and the children.
His ex-wife applied to child maintenance and they set up a direct payment.
We questioned this recently as the youngest is spending half the week with us every other week, and overnight in the middle.
When we did the online calculator it said he didn't have to pay anything. However on ringing them to enquire they said it was to stay the same. Now we are having her an extra 2/3nights we did the calculation again, and again the award came back as £0.
We are going to ring them again tomorrow, but wanted to get some input first as I'm so confused with it all!
I don't get how the calculations can be so drastically different. I know it might not be much to some people, but the money would be helpful towards food for the extra time she is now here.

The calculation would be 16% of gross income, divide by 7 then times by 4/5.

CMS don't know their a** from their elbow. They will continue to make you pay, they do not follow their own guidelines and are a law unto themselves.0
