BBC breaking news suggested the last flights could be this evening... making the "end of the month" estimates I saw, look wildly optimistic.
  • I applied though the Halifax MasterCard for my Flybe flights refund the day after they went into administration. Halifax quoted up to 45 days to decide if they would refund, still waiting, the 45 days ends on 18th April.  My flights amounted to £1230 as it was for a children’s Hockey tour so I had to book for 32 children and 9 adults under a group booking with Flybe.

If you don't get a refund from your Halifax MasterCard you can make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman to get your money back for you.

Is anyone having similar problems with Ryanair? I had flights cancelled by the airline, which means they’re obliged to refund me, but I can’t seem to get past the first page in the process on their website.

Likely you have to call them, other airlines have made refunds via phonecall only with vouchers available if you do it online. So settle in for a long listen to holding music. Alternatively, I read in an article that one traveller (who spoke Italian) phoned Easyjet customer service in Italy and got through straight away rather than having to sit in a holding queue for UK customer service. We're booked with Easyjet in June, let's see

We had flights to Tenerife cancelled by them.

There was a link in the email to click and it was a very simple form.  It wasnt this one but this one looks similar.

Is that one not working for you?

I got it to work last night, long after the day I had been due to fly.  Probably overloaded.

Yeah we submitted ours a couple of weeks back on 20th March but havent had a refund yet.

I'd imagine cashflow is a problem for them too.

I got the page to work and made my claim, I haven’t been paid. May take a while.

I'd imagine it isn't, because the money should be separate from the airlines own money until it's refunded. It should be the same for travel agents.

If a company is using customer deposits to fund its daily operations (and there are strict regulations in travel against this) then quite frankly they shouldn't be in business.
