Santander won’t REDUCE my overdraft.

You have had that advice, from more than one person. The pertinent question now is why, rather than acting on it, you are throwing your toys out of the pram.

Lloyds quite happily let me reduce mine online without an issue.  No idea if it's just treated as a reduction or a new overdraft, but the reduction is applied instantly and my credit record isn't great.
