Nearly there finally

So after years and years off debt on multiple accounts things are finally falling into place, role back 4 and a bit years i was in debt in by around £26000!! Now I’m currently bought balances down to around £2300!!! All this is on long term 0% interest credit card accounts x2 it feels so good to be finally back in control of my finances

    That must be a great feeling! Learning where you went wrong and changing your behavior is an important lessen. I hope to be in your position one day!
  • I hit a light bulb moment over 4 years ago when I felt out of control with my debts that where everywhere from maxed out overdraft to loans and credit cards and having a young daughter I knew I needed to grow up and fix the issue, I spent out of control after a very close friend was killed in a car crash, and just felt like debt was the normal I’ve never missed a payment ever is the one positive

    just a update on a few things re debt , I’ve now cleared both Tesco loan and nationwide loading,just got 2 other credit cards to clear both on 0% apr, I plan to attack HSBC one 1st as this has the lower balance then Barclaycard after all this I’ll be debt free for the 1st time in 22 years!!

    That is amazing, very well done!!
    Starting Total in September 2019 = £38287.77
    Current Total = £25534.10
    33% of debt paid off so far

    Debt Free by Christmas September August July June 2023!
  • I Lived more than 20 years in debt and am so relieved not to be there.  That said, my mortgage still contains amounts that were used to clear loans and bills.  It’s great that you can see the end in sight.  Well done
