Squeaky bum time!

Portfolio has lost nearly all the gains it's made since December, now sitting at just +0.8% which will probably get wiped out at the next valuation point.

But I don't plan to retire for another 10-15 years, so I sense a buying opportunity will soon be presenting itself! :-)

I am back to where I was three years ago now. I have taken some drawdown, but even so, I feel like 💩
  • Indeed. As someone who's quite clueless with regard to investing, my ISA is with one of the companies that make the decisions for you. Slightly disconcerting to see a £500+ downturn on my fairly modest investment in the space of about a week. However, I've had the account long enough to realise that there's no need for panic and  that things will most likely turn around before too long.

Anyone thinking of transferring from a DB scheme might do well to dwell on this thread!
Indeed. I wish I had taken my DB in full and not the PCLS as I have lost 10% of it already. It was meant to give a higher income from dividends than the pension commuted. Maybe it will, but I wish I could go back and take the extra £2k (£1600 net) pension instead of the £50k tax free cash which is now worth £45k. Of course in a year's time we might be OK but this time it seems different.
  • My SIPP hasn't seen lows like this since the heady days of December 2019. Ah the good old days!
I usually update prices in my accounting software weekly. In the past when there have been prolonged market falls I just do it less frequently.

I am now 10% down this calendar year. If you are breaking even I must be doing something badly wrong.

    Ouch  :o
Just checked mine....sure, down a little this week, but actually I am still up (0.6%) since 31st Jan (last payment in was before that)
Fully expect more of a dip, but still fairly pleased with that.....
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

Just a 30% (and increasing!) chunk in VGOV.

How down are you this week? FTSE not far off 10% since the weekend and I am not far off that myself.
