Sending documents to Solicitor (Bank Statements/Account number)

Hi People,
I have already sent evidence of bank statements to my broker, my estate agent, and now my solicitor wants some. I was recommended to me to block out my account number, which I have done for all the statements I have sent so far. So these original statements that I now have to send to my solicitor by post have blacked/blanked out Account Numbers on them.......then I looked at a form they also require me to send and they ask for the following info.....
Name of Bank, Account Name, Account Number, Sort Code, IBAN/SWIFT, and they also want to see my actual drivers licence so I am sending that in the post too.
Is this all ok to send to them and to send in the post or is it risking leaking too much information?
Also, will the solicitor need to match up the Account Number I write on the form with the Account Number on my bank statements........as they won't be able to now as I blanked them all out.

Who ever recommended blanking out details was silly. It would be then of no use to the people who are doing the checks. They will all have to match up.
Its not as if bank sort codes and account numbers are secret, people use them all the time to send money to these days. I can give you my account details to send me money, its not as if you can then pass all security features to then take money out. Send all by special delivery.

Send documents unredacted by special delivery. We all gather this stuff to create a future audit trail for the authorities to follow in the event of an allegation of money laundering. With no account number, the statement is useless.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thousands of people work for your bank, and they (potentially) can already access all the information in your account. A couple of people at your solicitors seeing your account number really isn't a risk. What do you think they can do with it anyway?(and in any event they'd need your bank details if they were ever sending money back to you!)1

Remember on cheques it has bank account, sort code and names, as do most debit cards too !1

I take it yours isn't a local firm when you can drop everything to them?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1

You should now resend unredacted copies.
Royal Mail - Special delivery is perfect for this.
You can ask the receiving party to return the original documents in the same way.I am a Mortgage Broker

Yeah, I didn't even think. My dad told me to block it out. So I just listened to him as he's smarter than me. lol.
It seems I need to go into town and into my bank anyway as one of my bank accounts doesn't provide a digital bank statement nor a paper statement, so need to get the actual bank to print one off in branch.0 -
For Santander's Everyday Saver they only produce bank statements annually.... So the branch printed off a Mini Statement....
Is a Mini Statement good enough for a bank to accept as proof of funds?0 -

Blimey. When I did a house purchase 7 years ago my solicitor accepted scanned copies emailed to them. Or are your solicitors stuck in the 20th century?0
