BPSS Clearance HELP
BPSShelp2020
I'm over a month into a new job and as part of a potential role I need to go through BPSS. I started the role in January but didn't disclose to my employer I left my previous company in the end of October 2019 as I wanted a 2 month break in between for Xmas and family time etc. I resigned from my previous job before I secured a new role - I have a reference from my old manager so no issues there I'm just concerned about the dates as I didn't inform my new employer I had left my previous company in the final interview (early Dec). When asked about notice period I just verbally stated I couldn't start until a months time. I'm going to be 100% honest on the BPSS form and say I was seeking new opportunities in the 2 month period for which I have a reference contact to verify.
Will my employer be given this information or is it confidential? Should this stop my clearance from being approved?

Did you actually lie/deliberately mislead at any point?0

Potentially but we didn't discuss actual dates. I didn't say I've left the company when asked about a notice period.0

Are you sure it’s just BPSS? I used to do those and it was a very basic check. IIRC, the HMRC Check only flagged up if there was a gap of 3 months plus. I also know that we weren’t allowed to bring people on site with *just* the BPSS if unescorted- they had to have SC as a minimum. Have you actually started the job?1

@Bonniepurple Well I'm not sure it's all very vague and wasn't told before joining. I've started. The form asks for anything over 30 days as a gap and employment history (3 years) plus referees x2.
It was a personal choice to take time off. I din't want it reflecting badly so didn't highlight it, obs now I need to. Honesty is probably best at this stage.0
