my ex wife has not being paying her share of the mortgage for the past 13months but she is still demanding 50% of the equity in the property I have been to a solicitor who did nothing for me but still had the cheek to send me a bill for £1200 I was just wondering if anyone on here had any ideas I really want to keep my home

In the absence of a court order you are both liable for the full mortgage payment so there is no her share/your share.
If she didn't send you money you needed to pay it all. Even if you did pay it all if the property was set up as joint tenants then, again in the absence of a court order, its a 50/50 split on equity0 -
Failure to keep up with the mortgage could end up with repossession, let your ex know after costs and repo, that 50% equity will not be worth much, not to mention her credit file will be ruined and good luck getting any kind of credit in the future. But then could be her plan to cut her nose off to spite her face"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Have you been to your lender for a redemption figure and a good valuation of the property on the open market yet?
If you want to keep your home see if you can raise 50% of the equity from the lender and buy her out of her house.
Good luck0
