    Belated birthday wishes!

Congratulations starting your new job, you'll settle in soon and hopefully the excited energy will slow, freeing up some for your personal life.

Trades people have work coming out their ears, keep plugging away and some will attend to quote.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Thank you @MovingForwards!
You're right on both the job front and the tradespeople front. It's just frustrating; I like to be prepared and have a plan and I am so reliant on other people for this!

Hi @frankersBri Just found your diary! I really admire your focus on OPs. Congrats on the promotion. I too am doing it on my own.

  • Hi @caeler - nice to see you here! I've just read your latest post on your thread; you've made amazing progress by yourself! I will settle in and have a good read later

It's hard to keep up sometimes right @Sandyra!

Ok, so despite saying I would slow down my OP's a bit, I just set another £143 OP to bring the mortgage value down into the £165ks - JUST! Felt like a nice way to start lockdown 2 and being in that lower bracket is a great feeling. But not planning on any more in November!

A builder came round on Saturday who was great. Actually listened to me, avised me and seemed genuine. I have another coming around this afternoon too. Fingers crossed to get some quotes back so I can understand if I can afford to do it in the next 4 or 5 months. Fingers crossed!

It is hard to stop isn't it!
  • Prolific payout of £5, sent as an OP. Every little helps!

Got my first quote from a builder for the renovations in the house. A bit higher than I was expecting, but not astronomical. I have had a second one come round and he's pulling together a quote, and sending round a kitchen designer so at least I can get a free second opinion on my kitchen layout plans! Some friends are having something similar done at the moment too, so I've got the number of their guy and hopefully will get a third quote from him. This will hopefully give me a better steer on the budget required so I can plan more precisely financing it and realistic plans for 2021 OPs.

    Hello @frankersBri
Truly every little helps so welldone! It’s good that you are having quotes done this side of Christmas so that you can make plans for next year and see where to put your money. At least three quotes is a good idea for sure!
