see the credit card shuffle thread and get this working asap.

A&L £5021 29.9% (if not this is your main aim of paying off, everything goes to this, one night in = £20 to pay this off, etc)

RBS £3979 0% till 12 july 08 (nice. what is your credit limit on this. if theres some available even 1k, max it with a balance transfer from A&L to this and repay it)

Egg £9500 17.9% (call to lower, this ones worrying and should be next after MNBA, READ THE EGG LOOPHOLE as itll allow you to transfer debts to it for 5 months at 0% in 2009 and 2010, but im guessing thats a little far but just so you know)

Halifax £2100 17.9% (call to lower)

Amex £3200 (guess this is for )

You two have a great income p.M, so thats a plus. This is serious debt. Dont let it spiral and your on the right path.

if you want some help plz let me know the CREDIT LIMIT ON each one of these cards and if any offer any special balance transfer!
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"

PAYG is more expensive than a cashback contract - you have to put 10 quid in every few months.
Not true, I have a PAYG phone and spend about £30 a year on it! ;) It all depends on how you use your phone. Plus I thought cashback contracts were outlawed now?

Hi and welcome to the board you have definately found the right place.

You seem to have quite a bit of spare income each month which you could throw at the cards so a spending diary is a must to see where this extra few hundred is going every month.

    Good luck.

I agree with another poster who said that there are probably other things that are eating up money that should be on your SOA. You've put £25 insurance - is this car insurance? What about buildings and contents? Any life insurance? Also road tax, mot, servicing costs for the car. Is the £40 for one mobile phone or two?

Sky £40 - you could cancel this entirely and get a Freeview box for the cost of one month's subscription,

You don't need to buy a freeview box. When Sky installed your system they will have given you the equipment. That means it's yours to keep. The Sky card becomes a freeview card and you just lose the premium channels.

    that's true, good point :)
  • Although there is a lot of good advice here, I would strongly recommend that you get FREE debt advice from either your local Citizens Advice Bureau or by ringing Payplan on 08009177823. It's wrong but true that creditors will take more notice if they are contacted by one of these agencies rather than by you. (I work for CAB).
I'd certainly avoid the cashback phone idea- it may look good but these companies are going out of business at a rate of knots and you may not get your money back. Actually they might not let you have one anyway with your credit rating!
  • Just to sya welcome. You can redeem yourseves with some hard work but t can be done as you have good salaries between you. BUT you really do need to start shifting the debts before they overtake you and ooking at the sums it wont be long if you carry on as you are! Just knuckle dow, look at shopping bill, switching utilities and making money by ebaying tat and doing surveys etc! Loads of us do and there's a great community spirit here - you're not alone! Plus the sky thing! I hung on to it for dear life but finally ditched it this year & havent missed it at all...pleanty of rubbish on freeview!! Hugs for you & welcome to DFW!
