PV inverter up/downsizing

an alternative would be to fit an SMA Tigo optimiser to the panel(s) in shade. They work with any inverter and prevent one panel that is in shade bringing down the whole stringpinnks said:Annoying as it may be to see that chimney shadow creep across the panels every day, it doesn't make economic or any other type of sense to solve it. When the inverter dies I might consider doing something.3 -
Now isn't it best to look for an inverter with export limiting?

8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery.0 -
Yes, had thought about that too, though not researched in detail. I have SMA inverters (2 of them for the 2 systems) so would be attracted to this option but either way I would probably need to scaffold one or both elevations and presumably get someone in to add the Tigos. Might bring the costs down to a more acceptable level but still £500 to £800 I would imagine for parts, labour and scaffold etc...Pile_o_stone said:
