Complicated situation

Hi all,
My partner and I really want to buy a place together but my situation is holding us back.
I am a supply teacher at present, weekly pay guaranteed till the summer holidays. In Autumm though I am going to start on a graduate trainee accountant programme. The problem is that there is not a start date available for the new role. Lenders and brokers do not seem keen
Any advice?
Thanks

You probably need to hold fire until you get a start date.

  • Thanks but I dont want to wait. Low fixed interest rates and just a desire to progress in life. Plus property is increasing in price again. Think I'll just omit the future change of circumstances when applying.

I hope that was a joke.  If you lie about your circumstances, that constitutes fraud.

As a supply teacher. Does your employment have a contractual end date?

Take mortgage fraud seriously, you end on the blacklist and forget getting credit easily ever again

Completion gets delayed or the purchase falls through and things start getting a bit tight you may find you end up losing money. It is unlikely you would end up on national hunter for mortgage fraud, but imagine you did - thats your accountancy career up the creek... and your teaching career.

If you cant wait a month or 2 until you get a definitive start date, that makes me think there is something else you are not mentioning, but I could be wrong.
