Nectar card sharing/linking

Hi.
My wife and I have a Nectar card each. Have tried to get the same numbered cards/share the account. Was told it’s not possible.
We had occasion to try using a £9 off coupon at Sainsbury’s using the ‘wrong’ card. The coupons clearly state this is not allowed (and it definitely didn’t work before) but it worked this time. Customer service at Sainsbury’s didn’t know anything about any changes. And it’s worked for us with the wrong card/coupon combination since last week.
Certainly saves time sorting coupons before we go shopping, but also means a lot more coupons get used. Like the £9 one last week!
Does anyone have any info about this? Have Nectar announced this anywhere, or would they just prefer to continue quietly committing daylight robbery?!

Request an additional card and spend the points on the card, job done.

I've never had a problem using my husbands vouchers with my ('wrong') card .... perhaps I've just been lucky... I DO choose which checkout I go to carefully!
