  • We thought exactly the same about 'The Pussycat Dolls' on the One Show last night. They looked terrible!

Alex Jones looked so much better than them - pretty and attractive in a natural way. The 'Dolls' were scary!!

Only worth it if there are other discounts to be had on stuff that is needed anyway. I fear Boots is aiming for the cosmetic rather than health market here.

Does anyone actually spend their Boots points?
Sacrilege! Of course I spend my Boots points, why on earth wouldn't you? They are a brilliant freebie for me.
I have no idea, I get a sense of the bargain factor when I accrue them but I've just checked my a/c online and realise I have around £200 in points  :o . Madness given that I wouldn't carry that amount around in cash. I've got so much make-up and don't need any electricals, so just don't know what to spend it on.

The website is advertising Huda beauty, which I'd never heard of before. I've Googled her images and its caked on so thick she looks like a drag act! There is also a picture of her make-up free, and she looks great without it.
Why only make up or electrical?
    Soap
    Shower gels/bath gel
    Shaving gels/razors
    Vitamins
    Toothpaste
    Birthday/christmas presents
    Suntan Lotion/after sun
    Medical supplies
    Perfume/aftershave

Out of this list, its only the sun products I would buy - and I have plenty of them. Everything else can be procured at much better prices elsewhere. Otherwise it is just their skincare that is of interest to me.

Back to drag-beauty - I caught the Pussycat Dolls on TV last night and they looked awful. One was boasting about being X-factor ready just 6 and a half weeks post her third C-section, what a stupid thing to brag about. The one below should sack her make-up artist:

One of the joys of middle-age is being less obsessed with your image, not more!
You've got £200 of accrued points to spend though, so it'll cost you nothing in actual cash een if Boots is charging more than other places for the same products.

There's nothing I actually need atm. Accruing points for me has been a futile exercise, but to my shame it's taken me this long to realise it  :o

 So you did find things you wanted in the past as otherwise you wouldn't have the points.  The good thing is, while you wait for another need to become evident, the Boots points don't expire.

Earning Boots points doesn't mean anything if you've overpaid for the items purchased (common with Boots) and ended up paying more than the tiny value of the points.  Tesco and Sainsbury use the same trick to make people think they're 'saving', when in reality they're overpaying.

Thanks, I was just about to do a big order of vitamins etc, and thinking twice about it because you can't use your double points, or other points booster vouchers online. But after going into store and finding that their pricing is now more expensive in-store, I think I am being forced online. They have signs all over the shelves in the vitamins and supplements section telling you to go online, if you want their 3 for 2 deals from now onwards. I calculate that the savings I will make from the 3 for 2 is more valuable (I will save about twice as much money, as I would have made from the points vouchers) and also, I will be saving cold, hard cash rather than gaining it back in Boots points. So there you go - it seems they are pushing business online. I rather suspect we will see store closures soon, because they are also reducing the points benefits to over 60s and the Parenting Club.

Strange as it is still 3 for 2 in all my local stores. Plus if you do the order instore you can use your vouchers for the points boost etc
