Mortgage - New job

Hi
Husband and I are finally in a position where we can try to apply for a mortgage. Unfortunately he is having a hard time at work at the moment (bullying/harassment) and whilst he wants/knows he needs to stick it out with a 10 years with current employer, he is on the verge of a complete mental breakdown.
Neither of us can cope with it anymore and he desperately wants to move out of such a toxic environment.
It's it a complete and total no no in relation to applying for a mortgage? We are about a month away from being able to apply, but I don't think he's going to be able to manage a month as it stands.
TIA

I wouldn't want to apply for a mortgage without at least 3 months with a new employer, or at least till after the probation period has been passed.0

I know lenders that would consider an applicant who only got a contract for a new job he is due to start. Obviously the pool of lenders is limited for this situation but if you meet the other criteria, what you are looking for is achievable.

Forget the mortgage any sort your husband’s well being first.
If you can still get a mortgage (and with a new job you can), fine. If not, it will have to wait as it is not the priority.I am a Mortgage Broker

When you say ready to apply in a month, do you mean for a decision in principle?0

If I was him Id just get signed off sick and then go back a day or so before you apply

I agree, get him settled in a new job first. If you don't have your mental health, it's like you don't have anything, and the new house might add more stress for him. Apart from anything else, what if he gets a job in a different town and you reconsider your location? Lots of reasons to make sure he's ok first. All the best.0
