Mortgage with default on credit file

Hi wondering if anyone can help me, me and oh found a house we want as part of the shared ownership scheme we will be going for £50 so require a £70000 mortgage we have deposit sorted. He has a high credit score with no issues I however have a very poor one as when I was 18 I stupidly couldn’t pay my phone contract and opened a very account with I couldn’t pay so these got sold to Lowell and I set up a payment plan which I’ve been paying 10 each month since. Last week I got my credit file from equfax to discover these two accounts have actjallt been as a default on my file since 2016 so of course I have paid one off and other one I’ll pay off next week but I understand my credit file won’t change and these won’t be removed until after 6 years . I am gutted about this and am now very worried we won’t be accepted both of us can more than afford the mortgage and this is down to me being young and not in full time work at the time. I’m looking for advice if anyone thinks I would be accepted on joint application or experiences or people being accepted with similar issue we were going to go with Halifax and just be open and honest about it an see where we get? Any advice please

If the default was registered over 3 years ago (even if only just cleared) you will have options.

Can I ask why you chose Halifax?
