I have a hob again!! huzzah!! Just got it hooked up in the last hour. It's a temporary one, but it means that I can start working through my giant bag of spuds, and my pasta supply. I should be able to cut down the takeaways and microwave dinners (which are hideously expensive for what you get!). Need to pop out today to do washing at the MrT machines (as I still am oven and washing machine-less), and will get a small top up on perishables at the same time.6

GreenFairy: Good news about the hob!
I'm having another NSD today. We're very fortunate as the only things I'm having trouble with are soya milk, milk in general, pizzas and eggs.
At the beginning of this year I decided I wouldn't buy any new clothes, and I listed the contents of my wardrobe and got to know exactly what was there and it's potential in a way I hadn't really done before. And now the same thing is happening with the pantry and the freezer! I'm taking more time to go through cookery books etc to find out how to use up every scrap, every ancient oz of green lentils!
Don't know how the budget will go as I have to buy essentials if I see them when I do go out.
Hope everybody is keeping well.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.6 -
Okay our budget is just completely out the window this month but I'm going to continue on with how much we spend. As always the overage this month will be taken out of the next (may have to up the monthly budget if this madness continues).
£69.52 spent today. This a lot though also included chinchilla food, hay and meadow herbs (a kind of treat hay sprinkle we get for him) which in itself cost £32.02. That is food enough for around 5 months, the hay we have now should last around 3 months and the meadow mix depends on how often we give that to him. So all in all not bad in my opinion.
The A and C delivery was the rest of the cost.
Off to work out the food plan for the week for the both of us from what we have in. Hoping we don't need to buy much else this week (though OH will need eggs later this week as they didn't arrive in our delivery today).
£296.41/£224.82.
£71.59 over spent (so far).
We still have an A and C delivery scheduled for next week that sneaks into the March budget though most will be used in April.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy5 -
A slightly larger spend to report - £18.29 on whatever items I could locate in my ransacked supermarket, including but not limited to - some Oumph pulled pork, cheese, cream cheese, milk, biscuits, and something I've got on the receipt as "ready meal". Lots of fairly odd meals ahead I think...
edit: just had a look in my freezer and I can confirm, the mystery "ready meal" is actually some veggie shawarma! I think I'll have the pulled pork and shawarma sprinkled through my weird rice and veg meals as lock-down treats...Grocery Challenge

I've just completed my online shop. £115 but I'm hoping it will last two weeks with what's already in the freezer. I'm over budget by a bit but will update figures once it goes through my account tomorrow.

I'm gonna clock out here and move to April a little early. Hope you're all doing ok x5

Up at £149.21/£100 and that's me done for the month. Some of that was planned excess for treats for a visitor, some of that was having to buy differently due to food shortages. So I'm forgiving myself, and moving on to April.

I'm having to declare that I am well over budget, the panic got to me for pet food and buying things for other people I was worried about. Get paid tomorrow so moving over to the April thread and trying to be more accepting of the situation.

Bust my £125 budget by about £20. Not bad,the FODMAP follower friend was here for 5 not 8 days ,she went home sooner because of the virus progression. Fed DD2 and her friend for 4 days. Plenty of variety to last till next Tuesday.
So I'll declare at £145 for March
Thanks one and all
