My broker has put in my mortgage application to HSBC. He said that it is now in a queue awaiting assessment. Anyone know if there is a big backlog at HSBC? How long do HSBC normally turn around applications?

2-3 days for documents to be looked at. Service is quite good so leave it to your broker.I am a mortgage broker and IFA. We had a mortgage approved by HSBC the day after submitting the application, this was a few weeks ago0

Just had a text from SDL Surveys, saying great news, we have received the mortgage valuation for the property you are purchasing. This valuation is for the lender.
Is this a instruction for the valuation survey to be done? Would have HSBC looked at our application in full yet?0 -
Survey is all booked.
HSBC have asked for my wife's SA302 for 2016 - 2017 to see if she claimed for Maternity pay in that year as she claimed for it in 2017-2018. Not sure why they are checking that.0 -
HSBC have asked about a DMP that started over 6 years ago. It finished 2017. Hope this does not scupper my chances.0
