Irresponsible lending

Whilst off sick from work and receiving mental health support from the psychiatrist I took out numerous payday loans. When I met my boyfriend he paid off a lot of my debts and after a payout from my workplace o paid off the rest.
My question is: would I still be able to claim irresponsible lending as I was severely mentally ill at the time and on benefits/sick pay.
My boyfriend and I have now split up and he has requested that I pay back what he paid out, which obviously I am not in a position to do.

Were the lenders aware of your mental state at the time you took out the loans? If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Did the lenders know you were off sick and had mental health issues before they lent you the money?

You can make a complaint on that basis but lenders are not expected to be mind readers. However, pay day lenders are under a lot of scrutiny and you may well get your case considered if there is evidence to show they knew or should have known.0
