Rent Proof

I am about to submit for BR but worried about my landlord being informed. I have no rent arrears etc but my rental agreement only covered my first year and the landlord didn't want to pay for another contract so we just carried on paying. I am worried that the OR will want to contact the landlord. I can provide a copy of the original contract which ran out a few months ago and can also proof via bank statements that I have carried on paying the same amount to the landlord, do you think this will be enough to stop the OR contacting landlord?

  • My O.R wanted to see my tenancy agreement..my rent was upto date and landlord not informed 
  • If the landlord is not listed as a debt and the agreement seems normal (not like 3k for a room) they won't make contact, i gave a copy of our fire tenancy agreement and informed the OR that we had entered into a Periodic Tenancy, he was happy with this.

    There is no reason for your LL to be informed.  In any case, even if he was, as long as your keep paying the rent the chances are he will not be concerned.
