PCP Car Faulty after 1 year. 3 Months to fix

Hi
This seems to be an odd question that no one seems to of asked.

My car is a couple of weeks over a year old, bought brand new on PCP. It developed a fault where all the warning lights came on. I took it into the dealer where I bought it. (Had to pay 12.50 to get a courtesy car insured) For them to tell me that the thermostat on the engine had broken. The stated that the part is on backorder and wouldnt be available until May 2020.

They have offered me a hire car from enterprise (a considerable make and model step down, although claimed it was like for like) that im not happy about.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Is the £12.50 just a one off ?
Re the rental car size, you have a means of getting you to work.
Have you looked to see if the fault hass been reported by other owners ?
  • 12.50 was a one off.
However I use the car FOR work. Going to client meetings regularly that could be up to 2/3 hours away.
I asked at the garage and this has happened to at least 1 other car from that dealership. So it seems not a big recurring fault, however 3 months to get the part to get fixed is a long time.
