Valuation Delaying Mortgage Application

We submitted our Mortgage application a week ago and the lender still hasn't been in touch with the sales office to arrange a valuation. It is a new build house (complete in a couple weeks) on a shared ownership purchase. We have a tight time frame and I'm worried that this delay will result in us waiting weeks more for a mortgage offer. Does any one know at what stage in the underwriting process valuations are usually conducted? The mortgage lender is Hanley Economic Building Society. Thanks

Be the appointed surveyor that contacts the developer. Is it school half term where you are? Perhaps there's a slight delay in processing your application.0

Hanley instruct valuations on the day of submission. As Thrugelmir says, might be a valuer issue or site office problem but worth chasingI am a mortgage broker and IFA.
