So long story short we have now come to the conclusion house is to be sold, however a valuation is yet to be done. Myself and Solicitor do not think value of house will have increased any from when purchased, therefore likely to be minimum equity in the property. My ex partner feels he is due more equity out the property than me so is hoping for quite a big sum of money. Is there a chance when my ex partner receives the valuation and sees low chance of equity he will try and make an offer for me to buy him out?

surely the best person to answer this question is you as it relate to what your ex partner would do an none of us know him so couldnt possibly tell you what he would do0

Given he wont speak to me at all unless his mum is making threats its very difficult to judge! Just wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation?0

Have you made an offer to buy him out? Given it will cost you money to sell this property and buy another. Perhaps making a good offer is in your own interests. Rather than trying to squueze every pound out.0

I have tried to be reasonable and made offers but they just keep rejecting, I am happy to walk away with nothing to get this resolved but his parents want to get as much money out of me as they can0

How would I know the answer to this? All anyone could say to your question is "maybe".

How much deposit did you both put into the property each ?
how have the mortgage payments been split between you ?
its always easier to put down figures to get the best advice on here
so
1. how much house was to buy
2. amount of deposit and who paid what
3. mortgage balance including early redemption penalty
4. how much you earn ( could you take over mortgage in your own? )
5. what estate agents valuations for decent priced to sell have you been given ?0
