Online shopping returns scam- help
I’ve got to a dead end and trading standards haven’t been in touch.
I made a purchase off an American website called fairy season; they do swimwear and clothing. I received only part of my order and the quality was really poor that I said don’t send the rest of it I will return it.
I spoke to a representative on Facebook messenger who asked me to send to an address in China. As it was £90 worth of clothing I paid the £15 secure postage. In September 2019 I had the package returned to me. I contacted again asking why this had happened; they further provided me with another Chinese address to which I sent for another £15 through royal mail recorded.
After this happened a second time I asked for a refund as i’d done my best via their instructions to return the items along with a refund for the items that I never received. Instead they offered me money off my purchase or to send me some more clothes free of charge. I refused. The American website seemed nice, the clothing and reviews were good.
I went online to get in touch with the company who is registered in NYC. They opened up a complaint and then they closed it.
I bought on a credit card but as it’s 9 months post purchase and less than £100 I don’t think I have any rights according to the MasterCard website.
I have nowhere to go with this.
