he got his state pension in 2006,and he got £60 a week “for other people” which was me his wife.i was working for 9.5 hours a week earning £65 ,we declared this change to them and filled in the relevant forms,at the time and apparently I was ok to earn this.now they are asking for proof that we filled the form in from 14 years ago! Obviously I do not have the paperwork as we sent it off to them.i have now had to request my p60s and wage slips from my previous employer ,from 2006 .they say they can only provide them from 2012,so at least that is something.i retired myself in 2015 yet in the letter they are stating I worked until 2019,I lived off my husbands pension from 2015 TIL 2019 and didn’t claim any benefits for myself at all but they don’t seem to take that into consideration,we are at a loss and really stressed .

I am assuming that this was the Adult Dependency Increase and payable  if the spouse was either not working or was working but earning below a certain threshold?
You earned an amount modest enough to permit your husband to claim the allowance from 2006?
Your earned nothing at all between 2015 and 2019?
Your husband reached SPA in 2006 but you didn't reach it until 2019?
I don't quite see why it is incumbent on you to supply proof that you did complete the relevant forms?
And apart from that the DWP have already given you erroneous information?
    Have you approached your MP?

    Hi hi Xylophone

  • Do the DWP read the forum?
One person caring about another represents life's greatest value.
  • I’ve no idea but I’ve got nothing to hide
  • Sounds like the DWP have enough trouble reading their own forms never mind this forum!

Do the DWP read the forum?

I believe they probably do.  Many (& I do mean many) years ago the job centres used to have people who scoured local papers that had people offering various services.  Back where I was living then one of the targets was people offering hunting services.  I doubt that much has changed since, although I suspect the abilities of the people searching them out has (not for the better).
