Police Contact Handler Assessment

Hey All!
I saw a similar post already on these forums, however, it was over 11 years ago! I hope that there will still be a good level of response.
I am currently in the first year of my college education and have been successful in the application stage of the Police Contact Handler application process. On Wednesday 19th of this month, I am being asked to attend the HQ of the force in order to partake in assessments. They told me at this stage, there would not be an interview. Only if I am successful in this stage will I be invited to interview.
The email states "The assessment willl consist of a typing test and a multi-skill test"; I presume that the typing test will just test that I am able to proficiently type above the 28 WPM requirement as stated on the requirements of the position. I am unsure of what the multi-skill test will include and thus I come here for some advice;
Best,
C Damon

- Does anyone have any tips or tricks for the typing test/multi-skills test?
- Does anyone know what I should wear to this assessment? It's not an interview, but still.
- Any information about the interview which I can use should I be successful would be great!
Best,
C Damon

Multi skill test will more than likely consist of your knowledge of the Force area, so brush up on the geography.
Your listening skills and ability to take in important information quickly.
They will probably give you a couple of real life scenario calls and you will be expected to remain calm and ask relevant, important questions and be able to get them down on paper ( prob a word document at this stage ) in a quick and coherent way.
Smart, casual will be good enough for assessment.

Regarding 2, just my opinion but I would wear something comfortable (but also smart) if your going to be sat down doing the typing test

28 wpm isn't very fast - so make sure you pay plenty of attention to accuracy (which is likely to be vital) rather than trying to burn the keyboard. Good luck!2

It may not be an interview, but what you wear is likely to be noticed. I'd wear what you'd wear to an interview.Signature removed for peace of mind1

You will be expected to stand your ground and not be intimidated by a caller , record all relevent information (cutting out the chaff) ask for callers name , location etc and what they've actually seen , with the MPS it was always referred to as R.A.F.T, Relevent,Accurate,Factual and Topical ( and Yes there were variations of this
), not get flustered etc.
You may also be asked to give an example of how you have dealt with; racist or homophobic incidents in the past , Whatever you do be honest, Don't make something up to answer the question because you think it's what they want to hear,
I done it for a number of years and loved it. Dress smart, Best of luck.
