Affordable Green Household Substitutes

Wanting to make as many reductions to our household usage of plastic and other single use materials as possible this year - but finding that so many of these come at a premium in terms of cost, with a lot of companies offering products that are just not comparable on price.
Does anyone have suggestions that don't make it hard to justify financially? It feels like we're penalised for wanting to make a small difference.
It might be that a small number of people can afford to pay a premium for such products but I'm not one of them, and I suspect I'm not alone. I'll accept a small increase in some cases but even that goes against my money-saving goals of course.
Products such as plastic-free bin bags, refill bags for washing up liquid and anti-bac spray (or bulk containers that at least reduce the number of smaller plastic bottles that are bought), and more, all seem to be more expensive than their less-green equivalents.
I'm aware that some materials make the cost slightly higher but I don't believe this is the only explanation - especially for bulk versions or refills for the same product - feels like profiteering, in my opinion.
I think that wholesale change can only come from reversing this imbalance and use taxes on impactful products and packaging to subsidise alternatives.
I've just signed up to SMOL for both washing and dishwashing so hopefully they works out, and I have some space to store bulk containers for other products, but I don't know where to find the best value options.
At this stage my priority is reducing the usage of packaging etc but if in doing so I could also switch to a less-impactful product too then I'd be happy to do so.
Thanks for any product suggestions, voucher codes, good web sites, other forum posts, etc. that you think would be useful.
Cheers.

My own research and first purchases during this week have yielded an Ocean Saver anti-bac spray pod refill (high hopes for these as they are affordable and such a simple idea), SMOL dishwasher and laundry tablets/capsules (first capsule trialled today - seems good) and a bio D sanitiser 5litre refill (bulk purchase, still in a plastic container though). I hope to find some more soon...1

I also found this thread which covers many good suggestions but doesn't often mention the cost of alternative products - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6006732/the-war-against-plastic-waste/p10
