Noom lapsed subscription costs

I signed up to Noom in Feb 2019 on their £89 for 8 months plan.
Having lapsed and deleted the app I forgot all about it as they send absolutely no communication whatsoever outside of their app (no emails at all). I think this is a deliberate attempt to allow consumers to forget completely about their subscription and continue to pay. Even unsubscribing is difficult (you need to re download the app, message you "coach" and then follow a set of links.) They have a no refund policy, but I am pretty annoyed about the fact that they made 0 attempts to reengage me as a customer.

Has anyone tried to contact noom about a refund?

I did, I tried the free trial but had to give over card details to use it. The app just refused to work and as they wouldn't accept an unsubscription any other way than the app so I was caught in a loop. I got there in the end but hells bells they made me work for it and i didn't even get to trial the product! (I had to get a friend to D/L the app sign-in that way then we both had to cancel the subs)
