there is delivery charge HOWEVER i picked it in local woolie. Just gone in there cause saw the advert in a paper. took it with me just in case they tell me there is a catch. but there is no catch! It wasnt voucher. Went to the tilt and ask for that. Phone itself is cool, basic really with virgin sim card included but no credit. So if you want you can top it up or not your choice. One thing if you thinking buying and unlockin... that can be tricky... couldnt find anythin for free... like unlock... but still a phone for a tenner if you happy with Virgin Mobile.

You say that could be tricky... He He, I saw the same great deal and thought I'd buy one for my mum, trouble is, she's on the Orange network! I checked out google for sagem unlocking before I bought it and saw literally hundreds of pages 'claiming' unlock it for around £2-5, however when I got the phone and tried MANY of them, none could it remotely, most say that I need a cable and software to get it unlocked! Some just plain old ripped me off and hoped that I would just forget that I even paid them! Luckily I always pay with paypal, so I put in claims to all of them, and got my money back from all of them.
Do you or anyone know, finally, where I can get this phone unlocked and for how much?
It is not clear.
I do not want to register it with Virgin and buy credit for it so that they can unlock it for me at a reduced cost, I just want to either take it somewhere (north London) or send it off to a reputable source to unlock it for me. I am willing to pay up to £15 to get it unlocked, the phone was so cheap, another £15 won't really break the bank!
All help and advice is greatly appreciated in advance!
Kind Regards.:beer:0 -

There are a lot of unlocking shops around ,just look out for the 'unlock phone' sign outside phone shops. There are some in Leicester Square near Chinatown, I think they charge about £5. Good luck.0 -
just ask a mate whos on virgin (ie. have paid them at least £30 in payg credit) and email on their behalf and they should send a code to there address by letter with in 7 days.
i only buy virgin payg now as i can get them all unlocked for free.0 -
As a professional phone unlocker for the past 12 years, I can say that Sagems are a pain to unlock as they use a system of hash codes in their lock algorithms, in practice this means that two phones that look identical can require totally different procedures to unlock. In most cases it will require the phone to be dismantled and test points attached to chips on the main board.
This is one of the main reasons the networks like these as cheap phones, as you can imagine it costs more than £9.99 to make, box, brand, ship and sell one of these so it’s a safe bet the networks know this and feel confident they will get their cash back somewhere else i.e. calls.
All this adds up to an imbalance of cost of phone to unlock, when we cost the equipment and time to safely unlock the majority of Sagems it worked out that we would have to charge between £15-£20 per phone just to break even over the average production life of a phone, this is why we decided not to offer a service for this phone.«◊» PRO UNLOCKER «◊»0 -

sorry to say that as of around 2006 this isnt true, T-Mobile have a MCC 0f 234-30, and while Virgin did share this at first they now use 234-00 or 234-0001.«◊» PRO UNLOCKER «◊»0 -
I know up my local bootsale theres a phone stall that unlocks it there and then for you and they charge about £10, if they cant unlock then they wont charge, also try independant mobile phones shop, they normally do unlocking and charge between £5 - £15 which is less then the mobile companys.0
