    Joining any DB scheme available is normally a no brainer.  It probably still is in this case, but you have the complication that it looks like you are already well provided from 65 and what you really want is to bring your retirement date forward - to which a DC pot you can burn through before the DB starts can be very well suited.

    You need to get the old spreadsheets out and model all the various scenarios - eg you could use the TPS DB to offset the impact of taking your other DB a year or two earlier.

    Ah, yes - I see. To be honest its not hard to live on 50k if you are single, so its madness not to put everything else into a pension and then get it out again from 55 onwards (esp if you are only a few years from that)
