Advice on parents mortgage

Hi, I’m not even sure what I’m asking. my parents bought their house and have £25,000 and 7.5 years left on the mortgage. If your father died tomorrow and, as likely, the house is held as joint tenants you won’t inherit it it will pass to your mother.
