Options
Hello fellow DFW ers well i did fall off the wagon this year with a bump, but today i want to share some good news with you all.

I have paid off my Capital one card hooray :)

Also i`ve been very good and only used my debit card for purchases,i only spend what i need to and so managing to keep the impulse spending at bay for now.

And last week did really well on ebay which gave me a boost as awell as my bank balance.

So i just thought i would share the good news with you all this evening, the card account has been closed and card destroyed it was fab cutting it up cant wait till i do it to them all.

Good luck everyone you will get there eventually so keep attacking those debts .

Regards M

Paying off a credit card can be a great motivator.

Do you know your card number and the customer services number?

Well, every time moneysaving is getting the better of you, call the customer services number to hear the robot say 'your. remaining. balance. is. zero pounds. and. zero. pence."

It's guaranteed to cheer me up, anyway!

(DON'T do this if your the kind of person who responds to this with. Oooh. goody. I can buy lots of shoes and worry about it later!)

  • Hello again thanks silvercharming and Cat4772,yes its a fab feeling, the maddening thing about it is that i`ve paid it off once then re spent on it ,but after watching Martin`s moneysaving podcasts and reading up on this site i`ve recently had my second LBM, i also watched the inspirational Dave Ramsey on utube about dumping debt,i can recommend checking it out,its a little flawed in some of its messages but generally good advice.

Hopefully i will stay on track and bring on 2008,there are i know people who are in worse situations than me and they might think its hopeless but it isnt it can be done. :)

I said to the chap on the phone that "you know the credit crunch, i`m biting back" :) i refuse to pay 29.9 % any more, wish i got that in a savings account. :) i would be happy.

The next one is lloyds so here goes but more than likely after xmas, when the assault will begin in earnest.

    Regards M
