O/S Daily Friday 14 February 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark cold start to the day here.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was peri peri spatchcock chicken and pasta with a sauce - all eaten and enjoyed. Tonight will be something quick with chips.
Yesterday I was very busy - all day - we've decided to have a mega clear out - house looks so much better.
This morning I'll be heading off to the SM first thing, then I have a few bits I want to get done. I'm hoping at some point this afternoon to get some chill time.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A decent forecast for us today but it sounds as if it could be the calm before yet another storm!
It's the calm before the chaos starts here too. The 3 DGDs are still in the land of nod but will be to waken in 15 mins ready to get fed, watered and organised for school. A quick tidy when they have gone and then DS coming to take me and Sparkle to the vets for the check up after her biopsies. It seems to still be bothering her as she can't eat the complete food and is happier with the wet stuff. This is the opposite of what she usually prefers.
So the Friday Tidy will have to be postponed until tomorrow, though I might make a head start on it this afternoon. Will see if I have any go left in me.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Thinking especially of NELSKI and DP1. I hope life is going on without added drama REDRUBY and your DD's ex has started acting less stupidly, Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"17 -
Morning All
Gosh Nelski, what a terrible thing to happen, I hope you make a swift recovery.
Thinking of you RR.
Yesterday's snow didn't last long, got to the next town and there was nothing but rain, not a snowflake to be seen. Had a good catch up with some friends after work and they all paid their share of our holiday, mostly in cash so will have to find a bank that's open tomorrow.
Yesterday was very long at work but wasn't too busy, shorter day for me today with a colleague's 60th so at least there will be cake!
Take care. XX

Morning all
Its a bit overcast here and not so cold but another storm due tomorrow, the sea defense has burst locally and there is l lots of flooding so people are worried about another storm.
I am off to get the food shop done this morning and my Brother is coming to rub down the walls and ceiling in the bathroom, its needed doing to a while but we have not got round to it, my bro is not working atm so is pleased of a bit of cash and it helps me out a great deal, hopefully we will repaint it over the weekend or next week.
All quiet on the dd's ex front but his bail is up on Monday so we will see what happens we dont think its over by a long shot but we will see.
I am also gearing up for my MRI on Monday which I am hoping wont be too bad.
Nels im thinking of you x
Have good days all xx17 -
Good morning, it seems calm and damp here, but as others are saying it'll be the calm before the storm.Nels, I was shocked to read your news - how frightening for you, hope you'll make a good recovery. How are you managing, have you anyone coming in?Hope your MRI goes ok RR.I didn't go out yesterday, the surgery rang and said that the nurse who was doing my blood test had been sent home ill, so it's rearranged for today.DD asked us to pick up Dgd from school yesterday, because Dgs is not well, and she didn't want to bring him out unless she had to, as he was falling asleep again. She came back here and stayed for tea, then Grandad took het home at about 6.30After my blood test at 12.00pm we'll go straight to Gateshead, to the big blue and yellow shed for a cheapish shelving unit. I like a look round there anyway.Thinking of the sad and poorly people,Take care folks14

Morning. Not working today going to sort my holiday clothes out and look for my sandals they are not in my wardrobe. The boiler has not come on again. The other half is taking it apart now I am sat in the front room with the log burner lit. If he can’t fix it we will have to get someone to have a look at it. We are having a takeaway for tea. I will make some soup for lunch I am going to plan what we are having next week food wise I want to spend as little as possible so going to look in the freezer it’s full so must be enough for quite a few meals.12

Morning all and thank you for all your lovely messages its meant a lot.
To answer some questions ...Scarlet I have vicious looking physiotherapists who visit daily built like body builders (female sadly) with all sympathy surgically removed...(slight exaggeration but pretty close ) Some days I feel I have progressed others not so so its really up and down this vile thing. I also have occupational health who basically come round to check I am not rotting with no food or clothes to wearFortunately as a good little old styler I have plenty of food in and still cooking although significantly slower I do a small wash every day and set some small goals to do stuff in the house. Its going to be a long road and its important for me to stay positive which to date I have struggled with. Talking to you guys helps
Rubes I am thinking of you too....read back and really worried about you now...Ill message later xx
nanny would love that bff hug atm
Gers hope the hip checked out ok
Thank you again for being there all and being my rock xx

Morning all from a glorious start to the day here in Kent. Started sowing seeds in greenhouse for allotment so will do a bit more today. Don’t fancy being in there with Storm Dennis.
sorry to see JackieO not around, I met her once and enjoyed her company very much.
take care allCarolbee12 -
Nelski, I'm glad you're making the effort to post, how is your mum coping?
RR, fingers crossed for your scan.
Chris is having an ultrasound today on his, ahem, personal bits. The dr is fairly sure it's a cyst but we'll be glad to get the confirmation. Poor Esben is suffering with a sore bottom from pooing so much,I think yesterday was difficult but hopefully today will be better.
I want to go to the supermarket today and buy some stuff to do a bit of batch cooking for Laura, I think they're living a bit hand to mouth atm. I also neeed to do a bit of housecleaning and want to do some sewing.12
