New Mortgage, Foreign income and Bankruptcy on file

Hi,
I'm after some information on chances of getting a mortgage or any potential brokers who can help me?
I declared BR in Aug 2015 and was discharged the year later. I also have a job where i work in Norway and get paid by a Norwegian company into a UK Bank account. My earnings at the moment are 50k a year and we have seen a property for 230k and have 60k deposit to put down.
So, my question is, would there be any potential mortgage lenders out there who would entertain me getting a mortgage.
Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm old enough to remember a time when getting a mortgage was pretty much impossible with a bankruptcy in your past.
Thankfully, that's not the case anymore and (assuming you have a squeaky clean credit history since then) with 3-4 years since being discharged, there should be options available with a decent deposit, albeit at higher rates.
Are you paid in GBP? Do you work offshore? Where's your residence?
  • I'm paid in Norwegian Krone into a UK Bank account. I'm getting the feeling that companies will lend with a BR attached or foreign payment but not both.

Unfortunately, that is likely to be the case and I don't know enough about foreign income mortgages to comment helpfully.
You may be able to get an expat mortgage through the likes of Enness or Liquid, but for the loan size you are looking at, they might not be interested or if they are, the fees charged is going to be high.
  • I don't see why there would be a problem - the only way to find out is to ask.
