Morning all.  I've been given £75 in Boots vouchers which at first I thought was great, until I realised there's a reason I haven't been inside a Boots for years!  I'm more than happy with Aldi facecreams, shampoos etc, Lidl deodorants and vitamins, and anything else I can get at Wilkos. Enough other smellies in my cupboard to last for years as we've just had Xmas. I remember years ago getting a really nice coffee pot and tea set at Boots but they don't seem to do things like that any more.  (I'd really love a jam pan though so was hopeful)

Can anyone recommend anything from Boots that fits with an oldstyle lifestyle?  I'm tempted to sell them but feel that wouldn't be nice to the really kind thoughtful person who gave them to me.  I could also buy Xmas presents but wouldn't know what anyone would like until nearer the time - I don't want to buy a Frozen giftset when Frozen might be out of fashion by then

What would you do?  Thanks.
EJ

Go to Boots, have a look round. See if you fancy anything. If not, keep it till you do :)

They do sandwiches. Maybe you could have a free lunch every day until the voucher runs out.

First aid kit? Thermometer, or anything you might need in the way of emergency-type supplies? My local one does gloves and brollies, and tights, and if you're planning for summer, good sunscreen is rarely cheap. Sunglasses, if you can wait a few weeks?
  • Do you need new prescription glasses?
Their own brand sunglasses are very good quality.
I remember when they did kitchenware; it was really good quality, but they stopped doing that years ago!

  • I too seldom shop in Boots any more but last month and this month they have sent me a voucher to load to my Boots card for 200 free points on any spend. Last month I bought 4 bottles of Boots shampoo at 75p each so I got 200 points plus 10 points per £1 spent = 30 points as I am over 60. This month I shall do something similar and then I shall have enough points to make a dent in the price of some razor blades for my husband. They are reducing the 10 points per £ for over 60s in March so I shall call in before the end of February. They also have 100 points for buying any hair styling product as well as others that I won't be using because I could not spent that much in Boots. It is still worth checking the offers, just in case...
  • If you have digital images you've never got round to printing this could be a good opportunity for hard copies, they also do photos on mugs etc which could make nice gifts.

I'd certainly agree with using their opticians. I've just had new glasses from there and a new  pair of Raybans. :sunglasses:
Other suggestions would be a new electric blanket or a hairdryer.  I'm assuming the voucher  can be used online.
They used to do kitchen appliances. I remember DD bought a SMEG fridge but that was more than 5 years ago. Amazing amount of points though!
ETA: There still is a kitchen appliance website.:D
My Boots shopping tends to be on the few expensive beauty products that I like (Clarins and Benefit). They tend to be the same price wherever you buy them so it's worth going to Boots for the points which I then use at airports for sandwiches, water etc.

I would second having a look at their website, they may have things on there you cant find in the store.  We got our child car seat from there because the advantage card points earned made it £40 cheaper, I never see car seats and the like in the boots in town.

Otherwise I would second thinking about first and and medicines you might need, their own brand things are usually very cheap.  Also, I got a decent hot water bottle from there recently so the OH and I have one each.
