Remove from a mortage

Good morning, nearly four years ago i got a mortgage with now my ex partner. I moved out the property nearly three years ago while she remained in the house. I had no Interest in the house and wanted to move on with my life so she said if I signed the house over to her that will be that. I signed the deeds over to her and thought that was it. Around a year ago my new partner suggested I look at my credit score so signed me up only to see that I was still on the Halifax mortgage. I brought this up with my ex where she admitted that she was refused to take over the mortgage by herself even tho she got me to sign the deeds over and failed to tell me that In fact I was still on the mortgage. All this is making me believe that she hasn’t informed Halifax that she is the owner to the house and that she got me to sign the deeds over without their permission. I have been trying to find information out and what I have read makes me believe that she would have had to get Halifax’s permission to take me off the deeds. Would appreciate any help with this matter. Kind regards
Kyle

Best way is to go on Land Registry ePortal. Pay £3 and see the Title Register. This will confirm the exact status. From what you say, I bet both of your names will be on it with a first charge to the halifax for the mortgage ie you are both on the paperwork still and even though you sign a document, it was never actioned.
