Trying to help big brother who has COPD

Hello
My 70 yo brother has had COPD for a couple of years. He tells me it's absolutely horrible and I can see he runs out of breath very easily. My heart goes out to him but he says he's the one to blame as he didn't give up smoking until it got so bad that he HAD to. Anyway, my query is this... he is scared that when he's away from home for any length of time he will panic because he can't breath so would like to invest in a portable nebuliser. He saw one on Amazon but it's £70 (there are cheaper ones but he wonders if the more expensive ones would be better) I've no idea what to advise, but perhaps some of you have the same problem and have bought a product that really is good. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks.

This forum cannot offer medical advice. I would suggest that you and your brother seek advice from his GP who could refer him to appropriate services that can assist in your query,1

I might be wrong but isn't a nebuliser only used with medications and if your brother is prescribed these meds the hospital will provide the nebuliser. I really think he needs to speak to the copd team it's not an item you should have to provide yourself. good luck in your search!!
