Sainsbury's launches 'Nectar Prices' promo giving discounts on over 250 items - MSE News
Sainsbury's has launched a 'Nectar Prices' promotion giving discounts of between 5% and 50% on 266 items to Nectar card holders until early March. While the savings aren't huge, if you're buying the items at Sainsbury's anyway then using a Nectar card to get money off is a no-brainer - though it's still worth checking if you could get the items cheaper elsewhere...
I've tried this twice in the past week in Sainsbury Local, neither time has the discounted price been applied and staff have had to sort it out manually. Would suggest you double check it's actually gone through at discounted price.
If you get one of these products with a yellow sticker, the discount comes off as well. Bought a pack of 2 ripe n ready avocados stickered for 40p and the 20p got knocked off.
Most Nectar offers are on groceries with no use by date - ie cleaning. toiletries or got longish dates such as biscuits, cereal.
Just look at the original article's comparisons with the best price for each item from rival stores. It tells a sorry story about Sainsbury's routine overpricing. You'd be better off forgetting Nectar and shopping at Morrison's or Tesco's for everything.
