Freshwater Anglers need a rod licence

Don't forget that any angler aged 12 years or over going freshwater fishing must have an Environment Agency rod licence.

Buy it from any Post Office or online at the www.environment-agency.gov.uk website. A surcharge of 25p is added to the cost of each licence when buying online. The charges (for Non-Migratory Trout and Course fish) are shown below:

Full Season = £23.50
Junior = £5.00
8 Day = £8.50
1 Day = £3.25
Concessions for over 65's and Blue Badge holders

If the Environment Agency bailiff catches you fishing without a licence, you could be fined up to £2,500. Don't make the mistake of thinking that a private lake might be exempt.
