Annoying when using Search - Anybody Else?

This is not a fault but an annoyance when opening a Search box - (applies to all Searches - Advanced, Forum-wide, This forum, This Thread)
I want to check what others are experiencing, especially with other browsers, and if they also find it a PITA, with a view to reporting it in Site Feedback once the numerous urgent faults have been solved.

Using Chrome:
On the old forum typing something like PL into the search box gave me the standard Chrome Form Filler box with options I had used before such as planetrock planetradio plantbasedmag etc. These options were automatically sorted so that the most frequently used were at the top. I just clicked on the one I wanted. My most common searches would appear as soon as I clicked into the search box. This all meant that using search was really fast.
On the new forum the Form Filler box just doesn't open - which means I have to type my search term in full every single time. Searching is thus much slower.

Yes, same here, missing this feature (also using Chrome).

Also, on the subject of searches, it doesn't seem to be finding words within a URL or a hashtag.
I was looking for this comp https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6101729 where the URL for the Twitter post is "twitter.com/protectyrbubble/status/1227132661984059392"
but searching for 'protect' or 'bubble' didn't return the comp,
    - searching for 'protectyrbubble' did work,
    - but searching for the word 'bubbly' (in the post as part of a hashtag) didn't work.

The searching itself is VERY slow - each taking about 20 seconds to think about it.

I'm also missing this feature (using Opera). This was very useful for the posting of the Mag Dailies. I can't easily tell what I've already posted.

I'm on Chrome and i've just tried it out.

If I just type in planet in the advanced search and change the category to competitions time, I get good results in date order.

In the smaller search box, if I type in planet I get allsorts of random results from around all of the MSE forum boards.  If I type in win planet, I get comp results but not in any date order.

..but what if you click on the magnifying glass next to the row of forum page numbers which brings up a search box for the forum you are in only, then type in planet? I find this gives generally good results except that it does return a result for the OP post plus more for any subsequent replies. So you could get the same result several times.

Getting back to the original question, yes, in modern times you would expect the search box to be intuitive and make suggestions based on previous use.

Search is a bit strange for partial words - I haven't got a full understanding of it yet.
    eg.
Searching allow will find allow but also finds allowed, allows and allowance, but searching allo finds nothing.
Searching celeb finds celeb and celebs but doesn't find celebrity.
