Incorrect parking fine - will it affect my mortgage application?

I’m mid way through my first mortgage application. I’m really concerned that I got an incorrect parking ticket (inputted my vehicle reg incorrectly due to rubbish machines!). I completely forgot to contact them regarding it (really angry at myself for forgetting!)
I have now got a letter from Debt Recovery Plus (first letter since incident) - asking to collect payment.
I don’t care about paying the fine - I’m just really concerned it’s going to affect my mortgage application - especially because it was an innocent mistake!!!

If all that's happened is that you've received your first invoice for the amount allegedly due, no that won't have gone anywhere near your credit records. And (I think) won't do unless and until you get a CCJ for not paying it.

If however you need to, ensure any Court action is dealt with immediately. Defend any claim and if judged against, pay immediately to prevent registration of the judgment (within 30 days.)I am a mortgage broker.
