Paying of Mortgage

Sorry about spelling.
I am now in a position to pay my mortgage off early.
I know that the Building Society will not like it & that I will get hammered.
Is there any good reason not to pay it off.
Thanks
Steve

Obviously if you are going to be hit by early redemption penalties it is better to wait until these no longer apply, but otherwise I would say go for it. It's a great feeling to know you own your own home!
Some people would suggest continuing to borrow and using the money to buy shares or other investments in the hope that you will get a better return that way. (jamesd may be along to explain this better than I can).0
