Don't know how true it is but heard Sony are apparantly stopping producing the 60gb versions and just have the 40gb versions from what my mate has heard who is a tester for Sony

That's why I want to track down a 60GB one.

The 40GB version doesn't play PS2 games, which the 60GB one does.

I got a 60gb one on Monday from Zavvi (the old virgin megastores)
£349 for console, 2 games and extra sixaxis controller as a bundle.

I thought about 40GB but as my son has 40+ ps2 games and his ps2 is dying I couldnt afford to start buying the ps3 games straight away.

I am sooooo glad I read this thread.
Telephoned Morrisons an hour ago and now have a 60GB PS3 for £349.99.
My kids will be so chuffed when santa delivers it.

Thanks to the posters on this thread for giving me ideas of where to look, after spending hours looking on internet sites to no avail...I phoned our local Blockbuster to be told that they had sold out but they pointed me towards Lakes, who I would never have thought of.

Lakes don't sell consoles usually but they are selling the 60gb PS3 because it has Blu-Ray. I was told that they have several in stock at the price of £349 and that includes 2 games from a choice of 6.
